FUNDING BOOST FOR GREATER MANCHESTER SMEs
In a move to boost the number of high quality apprenticeship opportunities across Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has launched a new apprenticeship support package for SMEs, which includes grants of £3,000 per employer.
Who can apply?
The £3,000 #SEEDIFFERENT SME Support Grant may be offered to SMEs who:
- Employ less than 250 staff
- Are based in a Greater Manchester borough – Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Wigan
- Are looking to take on an apprentice
To be eligible, you need to:
- Pay at least the National Minimum Wage
- Be a small business not required to pay the Apprenticeship Levy
- Have not recruited an apprentice in the last two years
How will the funding be awarded?
Grants will be paid in instalments, with a final payment made once the apprenticeship has concluded.
How to apply
You can apply for funding using an online expression of interest form from your local authority. Funds are not guaranteed and businesses must meet the terms and conditions.
